Your network history stays yours

Privacy notice

Kilobat is provided by Philip Seifi, Revoluční 2137/8b, Praha 1, 11000, Czech Republic; IČO 29893925. Contact ping@kilobat.app about privacy, access, correction or deletion requests.

What stays on your Mac

Kilobat stores traffic totals, app and process information, network names and identifiers, diagnostic measurements, connection events, saved spots, preferences and rules locally. These records are not uploaded to us or sold. Kilobat has no advertising SDK or usage analytics.

The filter records connection metadata, not packet contents. Its local event log is limited to 1,000 entries and seven days. Other histories are bounded by record count; saved settings and spots remain until removed. Exports may contain network names, addresses and process information. Review an export before sharing it.

Network requests

Connection monitoring sends reachability and DNS requests to the router and public test services. These include Apple, Cloudflare and Google endpoints. Speed tests transfer data to Cloudflare’s speed-test servers when started, or on a schedule you enable. Resolver comparisons contact the selected DNS providers. Local network tools contact devices on your network. Domain lists are downloaded from the addresses you configure.

Those services necessarily receive your IP address and the request made to them, and apply their own privacy policies. Kilobat does not send them your traffic history or a list of the apps you use. Network checks use data. Their interval and optional schedules can be adjusted in Settings; quitting Kilobat stops its diagnostic monitoring.

Purchases and licenses

Dodo Payments handles checkout and purchase records as merchant of record. Its checkout presents its terms and privacy information. We do not receive your full payment-card details. Purchase support can require your email address, order identifier and transaction information.

Activation sends your license key and a randomly generated installation label to the licensing service. Validation and deactivation send the key and license-instance identifier. The server also sees your IP address. These requests deliver the license you purchased and prevent unauthorized activation. Keys and trial dates are stored in your Mac’s Keychain. Activated access remains available if validation cannot reach the service.

Updates and website

The app can check for updates using Sparkle. The update host receives normal connection information, such as your IP address, and information needed to choose an update. Optional system-profile reporting is disabled. The website uses no analytics or advertising cookies. The hosting and payment providers may retain operational or legally required records under their own policies.

Wi-Fi passwords and permissions

Wi-Fi passwords are retrieved from macOS only when you request a password or QR code and complete the authorization offered by the system. Kilobat does not upload them. Password copies are marked as sensitive clipboard content and cleared after a short interval if the clipboard still contains that copy. Other apps with clipboard access may still read it. A QR code contains the network credentials, so share it only with people who should have access.

Location permission allows macOS to disclose Wi-Fi names and scan results. Local Network permission is used for local-device tools. Notifications and the network filter require separate, explicit approval. You can revoke permissions in System Settings.

Control and deletion

Local app data lives in your user Library under Application Support/Kilobat, with preferences in macOS preferences and licensing records in Keychain. Follow the removal instructions to remove the app and local records. Deleting a local installation does not delete a purchase or legally required transaction record.

We use information you send to support to resolve your request. Do not include passwords, license keys or an unreviewed network report in a public message. Where applicable, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability or object to processing, and complain to your data-protection authority. Some transaction records must be retained to meet legal obligations. Contact ping@kilobat.app for these requests.
